I bring

the spring

the first strawberry yielded this winter

the sand from the land you grew up on

the constant outward glance from parents

the moonlight spattering on the street

the undirected wind

the calm of the lockdown

to you

This box is used by the swallow to carry the message and tokens from the eternal home and the people there.

In the Chinese context, the swallow can represent both hope and despair. It represents the arrival of a new spring, as well as the passage of unstopping time.

I, like a swallow, travel back and forth according to time, taking and bringing happiness and sadness from both locations. I think the resonation between myself and this creature is intriguing and that's how I come up with a final combination of knitting and weaving. Based on the characteristic and limitations of devices and materials, I knitted the swallow outfit and wove the entire box.
